Who writes Dirtbeam

Dirtbeam is written by Chad Sig. Each build note takes a rig someone else built, credits them, and works out why their choices work, so you can use the reasoning on your own.

How a build note is made

  • A build is chosen for what it teaches. Each one is a worked example for a field-guide question, picked because its builder made a clear call and wrote down why. We cover builds we think are good, and describe the tradeoffs they accept rather than scoring them.
  • Every note covers a build someone else made. The people who built it are named and linked at the top, and every photograph links back to where they published it.
  • What the builder said and what we read into the build are kept apart. Their points sit under their own name, quoted where we have their words and linked to where they said it. Ours are marked as Dirtbeam's reading.
  • Every page lists its sources, with the date each one was read.
  • Field-guide answers come first and are written to stand on their own. The page then shows the reasoning and a build where someone made the call.
